Willie Mullins will provide a host of horse racing naps this weekend, but the master of Closutton will saddle arguably his most intriguing trio in Sunday's Grade 2 Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle, which has been a race the Irish trainer has dominated in recent times.
Mullins has saddled five of the last six winners of the race with the likes of Vautour, Douvan and Min just a standout triumvirate to have tasted victory in the race that have gone on to bigger and better things.
Vautour and Douvan went on to sparkle at the Cheltenham Festival and claimed victory in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle and Mullins' trio of entries will be eager to try and propel themselves into the reckoning for the Prestbury Park curtain-raiser on March 12 and it's Buildmeupbuttercup, who is the shortest in the betting for the Supreme and has been installed as the ante-post favourite for Sunday's Moscow Flyer.
A 25/1 shot for the Supreme, Buildmeupbuttercup was a decent winner on his first start over hurdles at Navan and the former Mick Channon-trained Flat horse showed that the hurdling sphere could see him sparkle, so if he can continue on an upward curve on Sunday then he could be bound for a crack at the Supreme in a couple of months.
Harrie will be the second shot fired from the Mullins' gun and the relatively inexperienced performer will be aiming to build on a Tramore win last time out, while Prince D'Aubrelle will complete the Mullins trio in a race that will see a plethora of exciting novice hurdlers line up for one of the weekend's big races in the Emerald Isle.
