With Hindsight Predicted To Go Well At Chelmsford
14:42, 18 Jan 2018

We’ve got a wide variety of racing today with jumps meetings at Ludlow and Wincanton as well as all-weather affairs at Southwell this afternoon and Chelmsford this evening.

And it’s to the last race of the night on the Essex Polytrack that we go in search of a winner.

With Hindsight is a right old boy at this point, being ten years young, but ran with credit on his seasonal reappearance at the same course last time and might be able to outrun his odds in the 21:00 at Chelmsford.

Racing for the first time since last June, he led for a long way over a furlong shorter here last time before just being passed by eventual winner Marshall Aid, who re-opposes tonight.

There’s reason to believe that the selection can get a bit closer to landing the spoils tonight, though.

That was Steve Golling’s charge’s comeback run, and he’s entitled to strip fitter for that reappearance and has an apprentice in the saddle taking off 5lb tonight.

That leaves him racing off an effective mark of 53 tonight and, given that he was winning off marks of 65 and 67 two years ago, and is clearly still in good heart, he can put in a nice showing for us this evening in what is, admittedly, a competitive race of its type.
