Tyson Fury has received a major boost ahead of his fight with Deontay Wilder with the news that Ricky Hatton will be in his corner on December 1st.
The British boxing legend has confirmed that he will be part of the corner team for the Gypsy King a week on Saturday in the Staples Centre having helped Fury fight his way back to fitness.
"The Hitman" fought several times in the States during his glittering career and has been an increasing part of Team Fury over the past year as the former world champion has looked to make a comeback in the sport.
In further news to boost Fury, it has also been confirmed that legendary trainer Freddie Roach will be on hand as the cut man in the Brits corner for the massive heavyweight clash.
Fury has done some pad work with Roach in recent days, who is best known for his stunning association with Manny Pacquiao, and having the hall of fame trainer in his corner can only be a positive up against the powerful WBC Champion
Trainer Ben Davison will remain in charge of Fury but having two men like Hatton and Roach in the corner is a major coup by any standard.
Wilder starts the fight as the favourite given his thundering power but plenty believe Fury can outbox his American opponent and these latest appointments will only add to the feeling that this could be a special night.
Deontay Wilder remains as bullish as ever though, with the WBC Champion saying that the new appointments show that Fury is worried ahead of their blockbuster bout.
When you start getting multiple trainers, for me, that says you're nervous.
Time will tell if Wilder is right but adding the ingredients of Hatton and Roach only hype up a clash which could well prove to be an early Christmas present for fight fans around the world.
