Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has an eye on taking a job in the Premier League with Manchester United at the top of his wishlist.
Zidane sensationally resigned as the Real manager just days after they'd clinched yet another Champions League title with a win over Liverpool.
At the time it was reported that Zidane didn't see eye to eye with the club's owners over transfer targets for the summer.
Now the former French skipper is looking at a return to club management with United his preferred destination.
Speculation about Jose Mourinho's future at Old Trafford has been rife all summer. He didn't bring in as many players as he wanted to and the club's attempts to sign a defender in the final days of the transfer window were frankly comical. Throughout the club's summer pre-season games, Mourinho cut a gloomy figure and his relationship with Paul Pogba continues to be the subject of transfer interest from Barcelona. Traditionally, Mournho doesn't stay at a club beyond three years and such signs of discontent have seen him slashed in the markets to leave Old Trafford this season.
United started their Premier League campaign with a 2-1 win over Leicester City on Friday but it was a performance which failed to convince pundits that they could trouble their neighbours Manchester City for the title.
French sports newspaper L'Equipe today says Zidane wants to manage in the Premier League and is "especially keen" on taking charge at Old Trafford. The former Juventus and Real Madrid player features on the cover of today's issue with the headline "The English Temptation."
