He has still got it. Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane joined in with training ahead of the big Champions League final tomorrow night against Liverpool and pinged in a wonderful cross for Luka Modric who finished in style.
Jumping up in the air and connecting with the ball perfectly, the Croatian international sent the ball flying into the top corner, leaving the stranded goalkeeper with no chance. Zidane will be delighted if his midfield maestro can produce this sort of magic in the final tomorrow night as his side look to win their third consecutive Champions League, a record in the modern era.
This was accomplished during the European Cup ear in 1976 by a brilliant Bayern Munich side, whilst Ajax and Real Madrid themselves also completed this incredible feat.
Real Madrid overcame PSG in the last 16 comfortably before facing a huge scare against Juventus in the quarter-finals. They cruised to a 3-0 win in Italy before crumbling to 3-3 on aggregate in front of their own fans. A last-minute controversial penalty was enough to see them through to the semi-finals where they faced German giants Bayern Munich.
A 2-1 away win set them up nicely for the home leg but again they laboured through, drawing the second leg 2-2 and coming under pressure at certain points during the second game. This is what Liverpool will be hoping to capitalise on as both sides thrive in attack but can look weak in defence at certain moments.
If Modric wins the Champions League with a goal like this though, im not sure Liverpool fans could have too many complaints.
