The Sportsman's Verdict
Willie Mullins has an excellent record in this contest, winning seven of the last 10 renewals, and the Closutton maestro has two big chances this time around with Buildmeupbuttercup and HARRIE. The former was a smart bumper performer last season for Mick Channon and won a 29-runner maiden on her hurdling debut/first outing for this stable last month. She receives the mares' allowance and makes plenty of appeal, but slight preference is for her stablemate, who travelled and jumped with real purpose when winning his maiden hurdle over 2m5f at Tramore, two assets that will stand him in great stead now dropping back in distance. The French import also moves as though he will improve for this switch to a faster surface. Leopardstown handicap winner Jetez has a definite chance, while Swordsman might prove best of the Gigginstown trio.
