The Sportsman's Verdict
Gordon Elliott has won the National Hunt Chase three times since 2011, including with his first ever Cheltenham Festival winner Chicago Grey, and he saddles two leading hopes at the head of the market in Jury Duty and Mossback. The former is yet to finish out of the first two over fences but needs a very patient ride to see him to best effect, while the latter has strong form on soft ground and may well improve for the step up in distance. No Comment ran an eye-catching race when third to Terrefort in the Scilly Isles at Sandown last month but this is his second start over fences and the concern is the lack of experience he has for a race where battle-hardened individuals tend to come to the fore. Ms Parfois and Duel At Dawn both arrive here with improvement to come for a step up in trip with the pair having met at Warwick earlier this year where the former came out on top. Preference, however, goes to Willie Mullins' RATHVINDEN, who has some of the best form on offer over fences in the field having chased home Death Duty in the Drinmore and he was steadily creeping into contention in the Flogas when unseating Patrick Mullins. He has always shaped like a stayer and looks to have plenty in his favour to give the Mullins duo a second success after Back In Focus in 2013.
