The Sportsman's Verdict
Whatswrongwithyou was the best of these over hurdles, accounting for the likes of OK Corral and Rockpoint in his novice career over timber, and looked the most likely winner turning for home on his chasing debut at Haydock before being pegged back in the final half a furlong. He could easily score here but there are questions about how much the Nicky Henderson eight-year-old finds when push comes to shove and the long home straight at this track could see him vulnerable to an opponent finishing well once again. Therefore, a chance is taken on THE LAST DAY, who looked booked for second behind the useful Knocknanuss at Newbury on his chasing bow before falling at the last, and lost nothing in defeat when four lengths adrift of White Moon at Exeter on New Year's Day. Potters Story has won here in the past over hurdles but will need his rivals to falter on his first outing over fences.
