The Sportsman's Verdict
UMNDENI won a useful bumper in the spring and performed with credit, when perhaps needing the run, at Chepstow on his seasonal bow in October. He bumped into tough competition once again when fifth at Newbury last month, but the form of that race could be strong and the step up in trip here gives Philip Hobbs' five-year-old the chance to really thrive over timber. Brigade of Guards was a few places further back in that Newbury event and is respected, while the quirky Little Jack would have to be taken seriously if behaving at the start. The bumper I'd Better Go Now was fifth in on his only start in October 2017 is full of subsequent winners at a good level and he is interesting on his first start for Dan Skelton.
