Arsenal travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon as Unai Emery fae his first Premier League game on the road. His tenure didn't get off to the smoothest of starts as his Arsenal side went down 2-0 to champions Manchester City.
His side will be hoping to bounce back from that result but things don’t get any easier for the former PSG boss, who takes his side to Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea. Stamford Bridge will play host to one of the classic Premier League matches and it promises to be a cracker.
Two new managers pitching their wits against each other with some of the most talented players in the world on show. Jorginho got his Chelsea career off to a flyer by converting a penalty last week, whilst Sarri is likely to welcome Eden Hazard back into the starting XI.
As for Arsenal, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be crucial to their success they will be difficult to stop this season. But roll the clock back to 1996 and Arsene Wenger was in his first season as Arsenal manager.
Having joined on October 1st, Wenger’s first trip to Stamford Bridge was not until April the following year but it was worth the wait as Arsenal came away with a 3-0 win. But can you remember the starting XI that Wenger picked on that day?
He certainly had some legendary players at his disposal, how Arsenal fans wish they could call on a few of these now! Tweet us your score @TheSportsman.
