Liverpool and Barcelona meet tonight at the Nou Camp in a game between two of the finest attacking talents in Europe. We will get to witness Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho go head-to-head with Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in a game that surely guarantees goals no matter what.
There is added spice to this one as Coutinho and Suarez will be going up against their former club, two players who were considered Liverpool’s best players in separate spells at the club. Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp will be trying to steer his side to the Champions League final for the second time in two years having bounced back from last season’s horror show in Kiev with another impressive campaign this term.
They still in the Premier League title race although that looks as if it is going to Manchester City with just two games remaining and they could well win the Champions League if they can get past Barcelona.
The two clubs have not met since they did battle in 2007 in the last 16 of the Champions League. Liverpool came out on top on route to the final thanks to away goals rule, winning 2-1 in the Nou Camp before suffering a 1-0 defeat at Anfield.
Rafa Benitez was aiming to replicate his success of 2005 whilst Barcelona were managed by a certain Frank Rijkaard just a year away from the Pep Guardiola revolution. These teams are very different from the two that we see now, but how well can you remember them? Try our quiz down below.
