The dominant force in the Premier League this season, Liverpool, will host their historic rivals Manchester United this weekend with the hope of stretching their lead at the top of the table to a whopping 16 points. No side in any top division in Europe has ever had a start as good as this but this weekend, they face the only side in England to have stopped them gaining all three points in a league game this term.
That 1-1 at Old Trafford earlier in the season didn't feel like a brilliant result for United at the time, given they had lead 1-0 heading into the final few minutes, but given what the Reds have done to every side since then, it now looks like an impressive achievement. Now they will try to repeat the trick at Anfield, where Jurgen Klopp's men have been unbeaten since the 23rd April 2017 in the league. Simply ridiculous.
The last time United took three points at Anfield themselves was back in 2016, when Louis van Gaal was in charge of the Red Army, leading them to a fifth-place finish. Klopp was still finding his feet in England just three months into the job and boy has he transformed the club. They finished 8th in his first season and three and a half years on, they are now the world and European champions.
Both teams have almost completely changed since the day United walked away from Anfield with a win. But how well do you remember both teams?
We are testing you on both starting elevens, plus the three substitutes who came onto the field that day. 28 to get in total - good luck!
