Liverpool will be hoping to bounce back from a midweek Champions League defeat to Serie A side Napoli when they visit Stamford Bridge to take on old foes Chelsea in their next league fixture.

The Reds’ quest for a seventh European Cup now has to overcome an unpleasant trend; no side has ever lost their first Champions League game and gone on to lift ‘Old Big Ears.’

Thank goodness then that manager Jürgen Klopp can look smug at the top of the Premier League, five points clear of last years champions and burgeoning rivals Manchester City in second

Liverpool have lost just once in their last 44 Premier League matches, and are unbeaten in their last 22. It’ll be important to treat the trip to west London with trepidation; Chelsea have a nasty habit of knocking down the table-toppers a peg or two; they have beaten the club starting the day at the top of the league on 18 occasions, three more times than any other side.

Klopp will once again look to the scintillating firepower of his attacking triptych, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, and Sadio Mané for the three points in victory over Frank Lampard’s side.

Mané extended a fantastic record in the previous game-week, as Liverpool recorded a 3-1 win over Newcastle United, with the Senegalese scoring a brace to take him to four for the season after five league games.

The forward took his peerless unbeaten run at Anfield to a milestone 50 games with the win.

This week he can hit another magical 50, and become the tenth Liverpool player to hit that mark.

The added significance is that Liverpool will have another bragging right over arch-rivals Manchester United; they’ll surpass the Red Devils' tally of nine players accomplishing the feat.

Fan or not, test yourself for the nine other Liverpool luminaries which Mané will soon be part of.
