From Michael Jordan to Bruce Lee, Nike have always teamed up with the coolest of cool and their latest collaboration is no different. Seriously, can you get much cooler than Drake?
Rumours were abound last year that one of the biggest rappers on the planet had signed an eye-watering £350m deal with the global sports brand and while that total hasn’t been confirmed, the latest Drake collection has now been unveiled.

Champagne Papi, as he is known by his 72.5million followers, has released his Loverboy merchandise with Nike which includes a series of t-shirts featuring cupid graphics, a red rose and ‘Certified Lover Boy’ spelled out, the title of his hotly-anticipated sixth studio album, set for release at the start of 2021 - what a way to spread the word! Another piece in the collection even features a poem by the lyricist.

There is also a bomber jacket complete with a quilted, embroidered heart which features in the video for ‘Laugh Now Cry Later’, a grey Nike hoodie, and a plain, minimalist white cap complete with kiss-shaped lipstick marks on the bill. There are even socks.

Matte Babel, part of Drake’s management team and chief brand officer of Dreamcrew told Vogue of the new venture, “Drake sent over some CLB (Certified Lover Boy) logo refs. We call him the ‘Ref God’. We started creating ideas for the CLB logo with our design team, while Pablo Jomaron [a Parisian creative director Drake has been working with] was simultaneously sending over album cover ideas. He sent Drake and me the CLB sketch, Drake liked the script, so we straightened it out and added the rose.”

Also working with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, this is likely to be the start of a beautiful relationship between Nike and Drake and we’re the lucky ones who benefit from the quality get-up created by these creative geniuses.
