McLaren And Castore Join Forces For Fashion Lovers Living In The Fast Lane

Fast cars and fashion combine for this supercharged collection

We love our cars and we love our style, so a match-up between McLaren Automotive and premium sportswear company Castore is right up our alley. The two major brands have combined to create sportswear based on McLaren’s supercharged motors.

While the supercar company is an institution, Castore could be described as one of the new kids on the block, so this collaboration mixes new and old expertly. Founded in 2015 by brothers Tom and Phil Beahon, the luxury brand has made real waves in the sporting world. Joining forces with Andy Murray at the beginning of 2019, they are the Wimbledon champion’s official kit partner. At the end of that same year, they agreed a similar deal with the West Indies cricket team and last summer, they made a move into football, supplying Rangers kits in a five-year deal worth a massive £25m. This month, it’s supercars!

With drivers in mind (sure, the car catches everyone’s eye but you’ve got to look the part yourself too) and lightweight materials at the forefront of the limited-edition collection, the McLaren branded t-shirts, performance tops and outerwear are smart, slick and come in a range of blacks and greys. We’re calling this one ‘metallic chic.’

The car and clothing crossover goes full tilt when you examine the features of the capsule. New vehicles are always aided by the latest technologies to improve performance and this outerwear is no different. With sonic seams, sonic welded construction and heated transferred interior components, performance will be high in this range. T-shirts boast thermo-regulation and UV protection, ideal for when summer comes back round, while the quilted softshell jackets are completed with water-repellent zip closures, just what you need for these winter months.

“We see long-term value in extending our brand to a wider audience beyond those who buy and drive our supercars while, at the same time, always being mindful to maintain our aspirational brand values in everything we do,” said McLaren Automotive CEO Mike Flewitt. “In doing so, we build on our high brand standards and luxury positioning while collaborating to bring something unique to the product category and wearer.”

Check out the range at Castore. Prices for t-shirts start at £65 while the quilted softshell jacket is £295.
