Timberland has been a staple of fashion ever since its foundation by Nathan Swartz nearly 70 years ago. It has been at the forefront of the footwear industry for decades, with the yellow boot made from nubuck leather making it an instantly recognisable iconic shoe. Not just a workwear boot, far from it in fact, Timberland gained even greater popularity in the 90s and 2000s when it was teamed with baggy jeans as a fashion staple of the time. Strong, sturdy and practical, now, the latest release of the boot features a glitzy makeover courtesy of a stunning collaboration with Jimmy Choo.
The outdoor footwear specialists have joined forces with the luxury, high fashion company to produce an extraordinary and glittering shoe. It’s a surprising match-up but it works brilliantly to create a truly unique shoe. Bejewelled and given a dose of glamour, each boot has been decorated with Swarovski crystals. The shoe is still as durable and comfortable as ever before but now boasts another reason to catch the eye. While all of the range features a Swarovski Crystal Collar and comes in four different colourways, the most striking offering is the Limited Edition Premier All-Over Swarovski with Crystal Embellishment. Dazzling.

“Timberland was the footwear of choice when I was going to college in the early ‘90s,” Jimmy Choo creative director Sandra Choi told Vogue. “There was a notion of nostalgia for me in this collaboration, but I also like to surprise people, and make them ask, ‘What kind of product are we going to come up with?’
“To collaborate with a brand like Timberland adds a nice surprise and reinforces that anything is possible. I love to mix it up by getting together with different creative minds, combining our DNA to create a beautiful and surprising product with unexpected links to the roots of both our brands. Timberland’s outdoor work heritage combined with our high-fashion sensibility creates something really exciting and unique in the market.”

The unisex range should prove massively popular, especially since pop royalty Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga have each been spotted rocking a pair of the boots while model-surfer-skater Evan Mock sported a pair for the official featured campaign.
As well, Timberland aims to plant 50 million trees over the next five years as they look to contribute towards a greener future. For every pair of boots sold as part of this latest collaboration, Timberland will plant a tree. This is a brilliant collaboration in every way.
