Horse Racing Tip: Consistent Sort Can Finally Gain Dividends At Chelmsford

The irrepressible Spare Parts won his seventh race of the AW campaign last night for Phil McEntee and Nicola Currie to continue his incredible story and hand him a lead in the race to be crowned the winningest horse of the winter campaign.

Hardy as they come, he reportedly ate up last night as normal and will be racing again in the coming days. He’s been a breath of fresh air and a credit to his connections. It’s another one of his trainer’s string that we’d like on our side today.

The 17:45 at Chelmsford is where that one can be found, a handicap over 7f.

The race should be run at a decent gallop, with Prince Jai, Be Bold and Mossy’s Lodge among those who like to race prominently in the field. That might set things up for our selection to arrive on the scene late.

Malaysian Boleh, who’s been running to a consistently fair level of late, was last seen at Lingfield on Monday and is back to the grindstone tonight. He was travelling strongly that day before being badly hampered when trying to take an inside track home.

A more considered ride from Callum Shephard can, it’s hoped, get him coming down the straight with some daylight in front of him and he should make a bold bid at wearing down the likely early pacesetters.

He’s got blinkers back on and first-time eyeshields as McEntee tweaks the formula a bit.

At morning odds of 7/2, we’re willing to make a small investment in the hope that he’ll be seen in better light today that he was on Monday.
