Michael van Gerwen made an impressive start to his Unibet Premier League campaign last week, as the reigning champion beat Rob Cross in Dublin, and now the Dutch superstar will aim to make it two wins from two on Thursday night as he faces Peter Wright at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff.
'Mighty' Mike already sits at the top of the Premier League table after trouncing Cross 7-2 in the Emerald Isle, and the world number one will be part of the third match on the oche, as he faces 'Snakebite', who kicked off his Premier League campaign with a 6-6 draw with Gerwyn Price, and will be aiming to cause a significant shock on another fabulous evening of top quality darts.
Michael Smith was the surprise package on the opening night of the Premier League, as 'Bully Boy' got the better of Gary Anderson 7-5 in his first match in the event, and he will face another debutant on Thursday as he takes on Daryl Gurney in the first match of the night, and Gurney will aim to kick on from a fine 6-6 draw with veteran Raymond van Barneveld last week.
Fresh from his defeat to MvG last week, world champion Rob Cross will look to recapture the form he showed when sparkling at the Alexandra Palace six weeks ago, and Voltage will be second on the oche, and faces Australian Simon Whitlock, and having beaten Mensur Suljovic in his opening match then Whitlock will be aiming to maintain his 100% record in this year's tournament.
He faces Peter Wright this week.

Gary Anderson will be eager to bounce back from his defeat on the opening night, and the former winner of this event will face Gerwyn Price in the penultimate match of the night, but Anderson has been suffering with back issues over the last couple of months, and is certainly not firing on all cylinders, and Price will fancy putting on a show in front of his home support, and will fancy kicking on from his battling point against Wright in Dublin.
van Barneveld will be the star attraction in the final match of the evening, as the recent Unibet Masters beaten finalist will take on Suljovic in an intriguing final contest, and the Austrian will be eager to record his first points of this year's Premier League, but with Barney producing some of his best darts in recent months then he will be aiming to end the evening on a high, and record his first win of this tournament, which should attract another bumper crowd in the Welsh capital.
