Dramatised lived up to the billing in the Queen Mary Stakes as Daniel Tudhope bagged his third win this week at Royal Ascot. This time he didn’t even have to ask much of Dramatised after he dropped his whip, but he didn’t need to as she galloped strongly over the line from the front.
This was another win for a jockey that has been on fire over these two days, and having put in a strong display yesterday has got day two off to a flyer. Dramatised was lively in the gate, but having won on her debut at Newmarket, she took the race to the other 20 horses in the race and they simply couldn’t cope with her pace at the end.
It was billed as a two-horse race but Love Reigns couldn’t get close, eventually finishing in fourth position. MayLandSea put in a strong showing at 28/1 to come home in second, while Maria Branwell finished well in third at 9/1.
Wesley Ward will be disappointed with Love Reigns’ showing given he has won three of the last seven runnings and the support for his Keeneland winner was huge. Dramatised’s stable companion Yahsat came in from 16/1 to 8/1 ahead of the race leaving many to question if they had backed the right Karl Burke horse, but when it came down to it, she got the job done in style.
Dramatised destroys her rivals in the Queen Mary Stakes for @karl_burke and gives Danny Tudhope his third winner of the week...
“That’s a huge weight of my shoulders," Tudhope said after the win.
"This filly came in with a big reputation. She’s going to be top-class if she keeps her cool. One of the fastest and best two year-old fillies I’ve ridden.”
