Warwick 15:50 - 3m2f Class 4 Handicap Hurdle - Fresh New Dawn 3/1 - 1pt Win
With the All-Weather Championships taking place and the Dubai Carnival from Meydan this weekend, there is plenty to look forward to for racing fans to look forward to this weekend. However, there are five meetings to get stuck into today and including jumps fixtures from Wincanton and Warwick.
Olly Murphy has enjoyed a stunning first year as a trainer after having held the role of assistant to Gordon Elliot. He's racked up 45 winners from 225 runners this season, a very credible return for the Warwickshire based trainer. The horse I fancy of Olly's this afternoon is FRESH NEW DAWN @ 3/1 who makes the short trip to Warwick in search of his first win.
This son of Flemensfirth has finished 4th on all three of his latest runs with the most recent being at Ludlow just over a month ago. However, there was only 4 lengths between the first 4 home that day and Fresh New Dawn has shown he is a strong traveller and has plenty of promise.
Today's contest over 3m2f is a big step up in trip for this six-year-old but when looking at his when looking at his pedigree he should be able to handle the extra furlongs. He looks to be the most talented in this contest and with Richard Johnson in the saddle I'm hoping for a big ride this afternoon. He's been well supported in the market this morning and I'm going to take a chance on the 3/1 that is currently available.
