Cheltenham Gold Cup winning rider Robbie Power believes his ride Jury Duty should be ‘bang there’ ahead of his run in Navan’s Ten Up Novice Chase (4pm).
Gordon Elliott’s seven-year-old hasn’t finished outside the top two in any five outings over fences this season.
He’s won races at Limerick and a Grade Two contest at Punchestown, and the pair were just under two lengths off taking a top level prize over Christmas.
The seven-year-old has a whole host of options for next month’s Cheltenham Festival, and will hope to boost his chances this afternoon.
"Jury Duty is really consistent. He's never been out of the first two this season over fences," said jockey Robbie Power.
"He's won a Grade Two, been second in a Grade One and ran a good race last time.
"Three miles around Navan should suit him. It looks a hot contest, but hopefully he should run his race which will put him bang there."
Gordon Elliott’s Monbeg Notorious is another from the Meath yard with a leading chance in the Grade Two contest.
The seven-year-old has run out a comfortable winner on his last two starts and is rated the highest compared to his four rivals this afternoon.
Mossback completes the trio of runners for Elliott, he looked set to win a Grade Three at Naas last month before falling at the last.
Moulin A Vent was handed victory that day, and Noel Meade’s six-year-old will hope to build on that win this afternoon.
Willie Mullins saddles C'est Jersey, who ran out a stylish winner at Punchestown at April. He finished second to a stable rival at Fairyhouse on her return, and may improve here.
TIP: I think the Mullins horse C’est Jersey could be the one here. Daryl Jacob flies over to take the ride, and he must think it is worthwhile. His second place finish last time was very encouraging and if he can continue to improve he must have a big chance.
