A cracking weekend of racing has wound to a close and there was no shortage of highlights for the National Hunt fanatics among us. The New One and Un De Sceaux, those two grizzled old campaigners, both brought home nice pots and gave their connections more to shout about.
Off the back of that, it's a relatively mediocre Monday in the world of British horse racing as we have just the two meetings today with Lingfield being the unlucky destination that has fallen a cropper due to the weather.
We have a jumps meeting from Fakenham and an all-weather evening meeting from Wolverhampton. And it's the latter that my best bet of the day comes from in the form of Karen McLintock's ROCKWOOD.
On first impression Rockwood's recent form is nothing to write home about, with his latest three finishes being 4th, 10th and 6th. However, he has been falling down the ratings the last six months and he has some really good course form at this evening's venue.
It was back in 2016 when Rockwood notched up back-to-back wins here at Wolverhampton, and it is clear that he particularly likes it around here. He was a little slow away at Newcastle last time out and a good start today could see him reproduce some of that fantastic form of previous years.
