Ange Des Malberaux (FR) - 15.40 Market Rasen
Ange Des Malberaux can complete the hat-trick for the in-form Skelton team, he switches back to the smaller obstacles after an impressive victory over fences last time and although the handicapper has not missed him, (raised 15lbs) the manor of his recent victories suggest he is a handicapper going places this summer and is hard to oppose once again.
Likely to be short odds, he was a winner on his last hurdles start by no less than twelve lengths and travelled powerfully and if not for a slight dive at the last it would likely have been an even wider margin. Back in Class Four Company after his recent win over fences, he looks to have found a good opportunity to continue winning ways.
Trainer Dan Skelton has swept all before him this summer and with the track trip and ground no concern he can land yet another prize with a handicapper that is likely to be one to follow for the remainder of the season.
Bond Street - 15.55 Galway
Across the pond, one of the horses’s who doesn’t seem to be affected by the bug in the yard is Bond Street, who turns out quickly after a fine effort to finish second at this meeting on Tuesday.
He found himself too far back from a bad draw but caught the eye yet again when staying on powerfully for a strong second after chartering a wide course throughout, and it is likely that a mark of 95 underestimates him. He has found trouble in running on more than one occasion and has been done no favours by the draw here again (stall 14).
However Aidan O’Brien has a good record when giving his horse a quick turn around, and while well being does need to be taken on trust he is an improving three-year-old in a field of full of exposed types, his handy weight for age allowance gives him a fantastic opportunity to put right Wednesday’s wrongs. Donnacha O’Brien takes the ride and it would be hard to envisage him not being involved at the finish line. Huge chance.
