''They Can't See It Beat'' - Stayers Hurdle Contender Faugheen Given Huge Shout During Cheltenham Festival Preview Evening

The Cheltenham Festival 2019 Preview circuit is in full swing now and for punters it can be tough to know what to take and what to ignore from the variety of panels across England and Ireland.

The latest event was held in Manchester by FansBet and streamed live by The Sportsman and the headlines were made when the Stayers Hurdle was discussed by the likes of "Shark" Hanlon and Conor O'Hehir, who works behind the scenes on RTE Racing.

Much of the early talk of the evening centred around Paisley Park as the clear favourite and Penhill as the defending champion, but two famous Irish horses then took the lion share of the attention to the surprise of the audience.

Faugheen is a Cheltenham legend as a former Neptune and Champion Hurdle winner but injuries and age have been against the horse in recent times, Hanlon was quick to sing the horses praises though with some inside gossip.

There's a lot of talk about Faugheen, talking to the boys in the yard, they can't see him beat! They think he is absolutely flying"

Few winners at Cheltenham this season would be more popular than Faugheen with the now 11-year-old one of the most famous in training and there does appear to be some hope that he has one more big day in him.

O'Hehir was quick to counter those claims though with Samcro the next horse under the spotlight for the day three feature. The Gordon Elliott trained horse was all the rage at the start of the season for the Champion Hurdle but a series of poor runs saw the horse all but forgotten about at the turn in terms of a Cheltenham run.

Rumours of a reformed Samcro have been doing the rounds of late with the Stayers Hurdle the likely target, and O'Hehir has heard that the horse might just be back to his best...

They think he is flying, back to the horse they thought he was!"

The rumours at Festival preview nights an always be taken with a pinch of salt but with Faugheen and Samcro given huge mentions this evening at the FansBet event, we are all counting down the days to the Stayers Hurdle.
