The Sportsman's Verdict
A gelding operation and switch to handicap company worked the oracle for SALUTE THE SOLDIER, who ran out an impressive winner over this trip at Chelmsford last week and the decision to turn him out again quickly under a penalty looks a wise one as the assessor is unlikely to take any chances with Clive Cox's gelding. Plunger has run well in defeat off this mark on turf the last twice and is a big threat with winning course form in the book. Skydiving has gone close in second here on his last two starts and can have his say again, despite a rising mark.
