The Sportsman's Verdict
Roger Varian is enjoying a fine end to the season and could add to his tally here courtesy of CONTRIVE, who won a Lingfield maiden in good style before going down by the shortest of margins in a class 2 handicap at Newmarket 12 days ago. Back on Polytack and open to further progress, the three-year-old is taken to defy a 3lb rise to get back on the winning trail. That said, Muneyra is potentially well treated on his handicap bow off a mark of 75 and the unexposed Wolverhampton winner must be feared. Golden Iris bids for a C&D double but is 1lb worse off with the reopposing second, Private View.
