The Sportsman's Verdict
Gordon Elliott saddles five and the best may just be Leopardstown winner GUN DIGGER, who seeks to build on his 18-length romp over Christmas. Stablemate Blow By Blow got the better of the selection in a Grade 3 over hurdles last winter but the Cheltenham Festival winner has been slightly disappointing on his most recent outings, while Ben Dundee's jumping has let him down the last twice. A Plus Tard is another useful recruit to Cheveley Park's squad of jumpers, and the Listed winner in France saw off some useful rivals when scoring at Naas. Winter Escape is hard to rule out in search of a hat-trick having landed a Graded contest at Cork back in November.
