Manchester United's slump-busting 2-0 with away victory over Burnley yesterday has lifted some of the clouds around Jose Mourinho's head. Always good value for a quote, he followed up his "respect" rant from last week with a nice, standard-issue dig at the media in his post-match commitments.
"I am delighted with the result," he said in the Turf Moore press conference. "But I think some of you must be disappointed. [For you] it would be much better if we lose."
Quite. Mourinho also took the opportunity to wade in on the fan's disaffection with the executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward - who is seen by some to be responsible for the poor form of the side at the beginning of this season due to an underwhelming window for the club in the summer.
A plane, funded by a sub-section of fans, was flown over the ground in the build-up to kick off which read: "Ed Woodward A Specialist In Failure", a reference to an old Mourinho quote about the former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
"I didn't see planes. I am not looking to the sky unless I am asking the guy for help," he said.
"Ed Woodward won this afternoon. Ed Woodward won 2-0." Uncharacteristically gracious by the Portuguese there, after the United faithful paid homage to one of his most severe digs.
But how many of his most famous quotes can you remember? Could you pick them out from among a series of quotes from another famously cut-and-pastable public figure?
