It is impossible to keep Sergio Ramos out of the news these days and the Spaniard was once again the major talking point last night as Real Madrid fell to a 1-0 defeat to their hated rivals Barcelona.

The Catalan giants continued their supreme dominance of the La Liga table this season with a clean sheet and a win at the Bernabeu but it was Ramos who once again stole the headlines.

The Real captain has spent the entirety of this career getting in trouble and he was at it again last night as he clashed with the great Lionel Messi.

Ramos has form in this area, see Mo Salah in the Champions League Final, and the slow mo replays of his clash with Messi didn't make for comfortable viewing. The 32-year-old landed a sly elbow on the face of the Argentinean which enraged the Barcelona superstar and lead to a confrontation between two of the most famous football players on planet earth.

The clip immediately went viral of course with Ramos seen as the villain of the peace by fans around the world on social media...

Sergio Ramos is a complete disgrace to the beautiful game of Football....crackhead!!  - (@parasrishi)

Sergio Ramos is easily the dirtiest player in football, maybe even of all time - (@andytelasai)

Imagine loving the beautiful game and then having to pretend to support Sergio Ramos as your captain and pretend to hate Messi - (@ElMengem)

Is there a player in world football who deserves to have a career ending injury more than Sergio Ramos - (@sleeep_deprived)

Few players split opinion like Sergio Ramos in the world of football with the legendary defender certainly a winner on the pitch but he s also a master of the dark arts as he showed last night. This time he chose perhaps the greatest player of all time to mess with and it is fair to say that the fans have just about had enough.
