Manchester United welcome Bournemouth to Old Trafford this Sunday afternoon with interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hoping to make it three wins on the bounce since taking over from the departed Jose Mourinho.
The Norwegian has been a welcome sight for Red Devils, positively beaming and visibly enjoying himself on the sidelines as United have seen out comprehensive wins over Cardiff City and Huddersfield Town.
The Baby-Faced Assassin showed he’s also got the mettle to cope with the egoistic cast of characters he has at his disposal by reprimanding star winger Anthony Martial for turning up late to their Christmas Day training session.
The Frenchman was reportedly late to join up with the squad at 6pm and he subsequently missed the tip to Huddersfield the following day, with Solsjkaer saying that his omission was due to illness:
'"He must have had a bad chef over Christmas. If it's food poisoning or something. I don't know, but he's fallen ill over Christmas,"
Solskjaer said at the time.
The Mail understands that Martial had flown back to France after being given - like the rest of the United team - a Christmas Eve reprieve.
Arguably the standout performer in a torrid Man Utd season, Martial was originally thrown on the scrap heap by Mourinho before introduced back into the fold and is now the club’s top goalscorer in the 2018/19 Premier League, with eight goals, producing a sparkling strike in Solsjaker’s inaugural game.
The club have also ignited the one-year extension they have on his contract, keeping the 23-year-old at the club until the end of the 2019/20 season.
