Arsenal Are Ready To Launch Astonishing Move To Sign Manchester United Midfielder

Juan Mata showed in midweek with his gorgeous free-kick against Juventus that he still has a lot to offer in the Premier League, but the Spanish international is out of contract at Manchester United at the end of the season, and with no extension yet on the table then the former Chelsea star could be free to leave Old Trafford.

So, it's no surprise to see a raft of clubs flocking for the 30-year-old's signature and it's Arsenal that are ready to try and lure the left-footed star to the Emirates Stadium, as Unai Emery looks to bolster his squad for next season.

Emery and Mata worked with each other at Valencia earlier in their careers and the new Arsenal boss is reportedly a big fan of the midfielder, but the Gunners are sure to face stern opposition from some Europe's top clubs with a move back to Spain also on the cards.

Mata joined United from Chelsea in 2014, but has only played one full game for Jose Mourinho's side this season and the Daily Mail report that he is unlikely to be offered a contract extension, so he will be free to leave at the end of this season.

However, it won't be plain sailing for Arsenal to sign Mata, as under the rules they are unable to speak to him directly until June, but foreign clubs are allowed to enquire about his services in January, should United not offer a contract extension, so there could be a monster race to sign up one of the stars of the Premier League.
