Arsenal go in search of their 150th win at the Emirates when they face struggling Southampton this afternoon at 2.15pm.
Arsenal make a whopping seven changes to the team that thumped CSKA Moscow, with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere and Alexandre Lacazette, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returns and there is a first Premier League start for Reiss Nelson.
The Gunners will be without Henrikh Mkhitaryan who injured his knee during the mid-week win, while David Ospina is also sidelined with an ankle injury.
Mark Hughes makes four changes, bringing in Maya Yoshida, Oriel Romeu, James Ward Prowse and Shane Long, with Charlie Austin on the bench, while Mario Lemina has been ruled out.
Arsenal’s focus may be on winning the Europa League, but they’ll be keen to keep the momentum going today. The Gunners are currently enjoying a five game winning run, while they are unbeaten in 22 home games against Southampton dating back to 1987.
However, it’s worth noting that the Saints conjured up League Cup wins at the Emirates in 2014 and 2016, although few will be backing the south coast side to end their league woes away to Arsenal.
Southampton are in shocking form, failing to win any of their last five top-flight matches, while they’ve only won once in 18 games dating back to November.
It’s therefore no surprise to see the relegation-threatened club out at 5/1 to conjure up a shock win, while the hosts have been handed odds of 13/20, with a draw priced at 3/1.
