Arsenal Manager Unai Emery Claims Denis Suarez’s Arrival Will Not Affect Mesut Ozil

Arsenal gaffer Unai Emery has been talking about new signing Denis Suarez in his pre-match press conference today and has claimed despite Suarez’s signing, Mesut Ozil’s situation has not changed.

He said: “There is no change for him. Denis is coming here because we have a lot of problems with the winger. That is the reason. I am thinking about all the players, If he starts, I have confidence in him. He can play right, left, he can play inside like a 10 player. I will use him in all positions.

"He played left winger for us with Sevilla, with Villarreal more right winger and with Barcelona more inside.”

Arsenal now have a number of options in midfield and Mesut Ozil is one member of the squad who has been struggling for game time in recent weeks. Suarez looks as if he could come in and make an instant impact for Emery’s men.

He continued: “I know the player. He started to train yesterday and today with the group. I think he is good, he adapts quickly and he is a player with quality. He can help us with his quality but also his ambition to do something important here. It’s a good challenge for him to help us.

“First thing is the language. He can speak English which is important. He played at Manchester City when he was a young player. He played with Barcelona, in the champions league with important players. His adaptation will be easier with us.”

Arsenal take on Manchester City in this huge Premier League encounter. City will be looking to bounce back instantly after suffering a shock defeat to Newcastle in midweek and Emery knows the size of the task ahead:

“Tough match. We are playing against the best. Now, with Liverpool, they are doing a very big Premier League this season. Maybe they have lost some matches but that is an accident. When they are home for us it is difficult. But we want to show everybody we can play. Every player has a big ambition to show their best quality.”
