The Europa League draw has been completed for the last 16 and it has thrown up some intriguing ties. Arsenal’s reward for overcoming Graham Potter’s Ostersunds is a tie against AC Milan. It is a tough tie for the north Londoners who will face off against Gennaro Gattuso's side for a place in the quarter-finals.
The Europa League is crucial for Arsene Wenger this season as the Gunners’ hopes for a top-four place fades and they are out of the FA Cup. The Europa League remains their only realistic hope of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Favourites to lift the trophy Atletico Madrid cruised past Copenhagen over two legs to set up a last 16 tie with Lokomotiv Moscow. Whilst Borussia Dortmund will fancy their chances up against Salzburg after knocking out Atalanta in the previous round.
Red Bull Leipzig got the result of the round in the last 32, knocking out Napoli on away goals after a thrilling 3-3 draw. They are rewarded with a tie against the club who knocked out Celtic, Zenit St Petersberg.
The Europa League Final will take place at the Stade de Lyon on Wednesday 16th May with kick-off at 7-45pm. Arsenal will be hoping it is them who taste success in France and book their place in the Champions League for the season of 2018/19.
