National League North side Stockport County produced the biggest shock of the FA Cup first round as they beat League Two Yeovil Town 3-1 at Huish Park.

Goals from Matty Warburton, Nyal Bell and Frank Mulhern was enough for the Hatters, who stormed their way to the second round of the world's greatest club competition for the first time in nine years, while glum Glovers fans called for Darren Way's tenure at the club to come to an end following the embarrassing defeat.

Not only is there a huge gulf between the clubs in terms of league positions, but there's over 200 miles between Stockport's Edgeley Park and Yeovil Town's home ground, however, that didn't stop over 500 County fans making the trip south and they witnessed one the club's biggest wins in recent memory.

Alex Fisher struck first for Yeovil on eight minutes and it appeared the league club would have too much quality for their Non League rivals, but Jim Gannon's Stockport side, who are currently 10th in the sixth tier of the Football League, showed they were not going to lie down and two quickfire goals just after the half-hour mark from Warburton and Bell handed the Hatters a 2-1 lead at half-time.

Dominant in possession and having had 21 shots on goal, Yeovil were unable to grab an equaliser and just after the hour mark Mulhern gave Gannon's side a two-goal advantage and Way's players failed to find any spark and the club that have been known to cause their own shocks when in the Non League ranks crashed out with a whimper.

The defeat was elation for Stockport fans and the players provided a stunning diving celebration in front of their own fans, but the Yeovil fans greeted the final whistle with significant discontentment, with some calling for Way's exit.

However, the win is all about County, who booked their place in round two in style.
