A.S Roma’s snazzy new third kit has been leaked, with images revealing the Giallorossi have opted for a striking sunglow sheen this 2018/19 season.
Of course once again sponsored by Nike, the pictures on social media reveal an understated map of Italy’s capital printed across the golden front, with perhaps the nicest subtle touch in devoting an area of the map to where the new Roma Stadium, the Stadio della Roma, will be built. Roma’s new home is scheduled to be ready for the start of the 2020/21 season.
Roma currently share their stadium, the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, with fierce rivals SS Lazio.
Three-time Serie A winners Roma are widely regarded as producing high-quality attractive kits, and their new third is no exception to the rule.
The one-colour 'University Gold' means that the sleeves stay blank, the shorts remain the same, before the socks drift into a delicate red fade.
The minimalistic approach is startling and certainly catches the attention without being at all overbearing.
However, one player who won’t unfortunately be able to wear it anytime soon is the departed Kevin Strootman. The 28 year-old joined Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille this week in a €25 million (£23m) move.
Roma will hope to surpass their modest Serie A and European success from the previous season over the upcoming year. In 2017/18, Roma finished third in the domestic league behind Napoli and champions Juventus, but had a memorable Champions League campaign, producing a remarkable turnaround to knock out FC Barcelona on route to the semi-finals.
