Football’s equivalent of A Midsummer Night’s Dream Changeling Boy, Aaron Ramsey finds himself the subject of yet more interest from across the continent as another massive club throws their name into the hat for the soon-to-depart Arsenal playmaker.
It wasn’t enough with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, Scudetto holders Juventus, and five-time European champions AC Milan to sniff around the 28-year-old, who has a little over six months on his current contract and can begin speaking to continental clubs in January.
That team who constantly compete with Manchester City in both the barrels of oil and delusions of grandeur stakes, Paris Saint-Germain are the latest figures to emerge from the shadows for Ramsey according to French publication L’Equipe.
The Mirror reports that a pre-emptive January bid of £9m could come in from Les Parisiens to swipe the in-demand Welsh midfielder so keep him out of Munchen and the Italian sides clutches.
If the bid doesn’t come in in the winter transfer window, a torrid tussle for the Wales captain is expected at the end of the season.
Contract talks between Ramsey and Arsenal have completed evaporated. The midfielder has been at the club since 2008 and has made over 350 appearances, contributing over 60 goals and 60 assists over that 10-year period.
A move to Juventus or Milan is still backed favourably by the bookies as Ramsey’s next destination, but with PSG expected to lose box-to-box midfielder Adrien Rabiot to Barcelona after undergoing their own contract clusterf*ck to rival Arsenal’s situation with stalwart Ramsey, It wouldn’t be surprising to see them step up the efforts to bring in the going-to-be-gone-Gunner as his replacement.
What is ultimately apparent however, that with the Italian, German, and now France champions desiring his signature, that Ramsey is most certainly a man in demand.
