The era of the behind the scenes football documentary is well and truly underway following the successful Amazon series with Manchester City.
The Prime Video service used the Citizens as their first venture into the world of football having had massive success Stateside with NFL and College teams in the same scenario.
The "All Or Nothing" cameras were on hand for every step of the way as Pep Guardiola and his players broke all the records on their way to a famous Premier League title win last term and attention is now turning to which team will be next to open their doors to the world.
The TV franchise is long established in the US with a different NFL team the focus under the spotlight each season and that now appears to be the plan in the world of soccer.
Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool have reportedly already turned down the chance to follow City which means that Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are thought to be the front runners to allow the cameras into the inner workings of their club.
Are Amazing missing a trick though? The success of the series in the States is because the NFL teams included are from different levels and quality, they don't just follow the winning teams who have the best players.
The Dallas Cowboys were featured last season as they struggled under the weight of their star player Zeke Elliott being suspended from the league for six weeks. The pressure on the entire organisation was clearly visible as they ultimately failed to make the play-offs and it made for compelling watching.
The only thing the Man City documentary told football fans was that the Citizens are an excellent football team. Hardly breaking news.
The series felt little more than propaganda advert for the club and Bayern Munich would be no different if they are indeed to feature in the next season of the Amazon show.
What about following a club like Leeds United?
A major organisation looking to restore their former glories under a world renowned manager would actually offer fans a real insight into the struggles and pressures of a promotion race to the Premier League.
Another more attractive option than Bayern would be Milan as they continue the long struggle to find their way back to the top of the Italian game. Financial restrictions on the Rossoneri balanced with the desire of the fan base and owners to start challenging Juventus (who themselves starred in a glossy waste of time documentary on Netflix) would make for sensational TV, especially with the likes of Leonardo and Paolo Maldini back at the club in administrative roles.
Come on Amazon, be brave and show us the real side of football, not a sugar coated version recognisable only to the elite.
