Wigan Warriors head into the semi-finals as the rank outsiders, as while they sit in fourth spot in the Betfred Women's Super League table they are on the outside looking in at the 'big three' of the modern game. They were also beaten 52-0 by the Rhinos recently when the pair met at Robin Park in league action.

Lois Forsell's Rhinos are making a real fist of this season despite having got the campaign off to a slow start by losing to York Valkyrie at Headingley on the opening day and then suffering another home defeat against St Helens two games later. Their 12-12 draw with the Valkyrie at the LNER Community Stadium shows the big strides they've since made, and bolstered by the Super League's top try scorer, Amy Hardcastle, they are big favourites to reach the Wembley final.

Sportsman stat: Leeds have won all five meetings between these sides since the resumption of play after the Covid-19 lockdowns.

Total Challenge Cup meetings: 7 (Hull KR 2, Wigan 7, no draws)

Willie Peters' Hull Kingston Rovers have emulated Tony Smith's iteration of 2022 by reaching the semi-finals but after a poor performance against Huddersfield Giants last summer they'll be looking for a much-improved showing this time around. The last time they were in semi-final action at Headingley they beat Warrington Wolves in 2015 to reach a first Challenge Cup final since 1986. They've already beaten Wigan once this season, Shaun Kenny-Dowall's hat-trick sparking a 27-18 win on the first weekend of Super League, but they lost out in golden point the last time the two teams met.

The Betfred Challenge Cup was the highlight of the Wigan Warriors' season 12 months ago as Liam Marshall's last-gasp try at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium took them past Huddersfield, and Matt Peet will be hoping for similar success in the knockout competition. Bevan French was Rovers' Kryptonite when Wigan won in East Yorkshire in Round 13 of Super League, so there will be plenty of eyes on the full-back once more in this one.

Sportsman stat: Both of Rovers' previous wins over Wigan in the Challenge Cup have been on the way to reaching the final, including in their cup-winning 1979-80 campaign.
