Borussia Dortmund have agreed a €35 million deal with Ajax for striker Sebastien Haller.
The Ivory Coast international will join the Black and Yellows imminently, with a medical and signature the only details left to be sorted to complete the move. Haller will become Dortmund’s eighth signing of the summer behind Niklas Sule, Nico Schlotterbeck, Salih Ozcan, Marcel Lotka, Alexander Meyer, Jayden Braaf and Karim Adeyemi.
He arrives as Dortmund's direct replacement for goal machine Erling Haaland, who left for Manchester City earlier in the window. This move comes 18 months after Haller was rescued from his disappointing spell with West Ham United, and he had quite a spectacular time with the Dutch giants, winning the Eredivisie title and scoring 21 goals in 31 league matches.

Although Ajax didn’t reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Haller had a memorable campaign in the competition, becoming the fastest player to reach 11 goals in the competition's history in just seven games.
Since his troublesome spell in east London, Haller has rediscovered the exquisite form that he showed at Eintracht Frankfurt, and he has now developed into one of the most all-round centre-forwards in Europe, making a move from a club of Dortmund's standard inevitable.
While it is a move that strays away from the club’s usual policy of signing young players with huge sell-on potential, they know they are likely to get goals from Haller.
Dortmund appear to be having a strong window ahead of 2022-23 as Edin Terzic looks to close the gap on 10-time reigning champions Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga season to come.
