Monaco head coach Leonardo Jardim has admitted the club could struggle to keep hold of Thomas Lemar during the January transfer window.
According to the Daily Mail, Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool are both reportedly interested in the French international.
Jardim refused to rule out Lemar leaving the club this month when speaking to reporters.
“We are not used to selling in the winter,” the Monaco coach said.
“But the transfer window lasts until the end of the month and many things can happen.”
The Gunners were heavily linked with a move for Lemar last summer before Arsene Wenger pulled out due to Monaco’s hefty asking price of £90 million
However, the London side may revive their interest in a bid to boost their attacking options, especially with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez looking increasingly unlikely to be staying at the Emirates.
Ozil and Sanchez will become free agents in the summer; however, the latter could be on the move this month with Manchester City favourites to land the Chilean.
While Liverpool are looking to replace Philippe Coutinho following his £142 million move to Barcelona, and Lemar is certainly a player who could adapt to the Brazilian’s role at Anfield.
Coutinho often switched between playing on the left flank and as part of a midfield three for Liverpool, something which Lemar may be tasked with should he make the switch to Merseyside.
Lemar has missed a number of games for Monaco this season following shoulder and hamstring injuries, which has contributed to the side falling nine points behind league leaders Paris St Germain.
When fit, the youngster has made an impact with two goals and three assists in 13 appearances, although he was unable to prevent Monaco from finishing bottom of their group in the Champions League this season.
If Arsenal or Liverpool want to land the highly talented forward this month then they may have to splash out £90 million or more.
