Nathan Ake has played down transfer speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.
The Bournemouth star has been linked with a move to Old Trafford on a number of occasions in recent weeks with Jose Mourinho continuing his search for a new defender, but Ake has poured cold water on those links whilst away on international duty with the Netherlands.
The Dutch defender has been a rock for the Cherries since arriving from Chelsea on a permanent deal back in 2017 for a £20m fee, which now looks like a great piece of transfer business by Eddie Howe.
The Metro are reporting that the 23-year-old has dismissed the potential for a move to United though via quotes given to footballoranje with his concentration very much on Dean Court.
"It's just rumours. At the moment I play at Bournemouth and that is going well, so I focus on that."
The former Chelsea star has made a name for himself as one of the most reliable centre-backs in the Premier League down on the south coast and it is no surprise to see his name linked with a move a bigger club.
Ake certainly wouldn't come cheap though with Howe desperate to keep hold of one of his key men as he looks to cement the Cherries into a top half Premier League table team after a fantastic start to the campaign.
United have been linked to just about every central defender in Europe over the last few months and it is only right that they turn their attention to a player like Ake who is becoming increasingly accomplished at this level.
