20th August 2017 15:00 - Bradford v Blackburn - League One

Bradford welcome Blackburn Rovers to the fortress that is Valley Parade this weekend as two of the favourites for the title go head-to-head. The hosts haven’t lost at home in the league since (disregarding play-offs) since the 3rd January 2016. It has been a good start in the league for the Bantams who have won both of their games, leaving them 5th.

Meanwhile, Blackburn are having a nightmare of a start under Tony Mowbray and despite being heavy favourites to lift the League One title in May, they have lost both of their opening games and the boss is coming under pressure to start producing results. He was the first manager to leave his club in League One last year as he resigned from Coventry and could face the sack if he doesn’t start to get some points on the board.

Stat Zone

Bradford

  • Last won opening 3 league games of a season in 2008-09 in League Two.
  • Stuart McCall record since return – P60 W27 D21 L12 (23 clean-sheets)
  • 10 goals conceded in last 16 home league games.

Blackburn

  • 3 wins in last 14 league games (D6 L5).
  • Tony Mowbray league record with Blackburn – P17 W5 D7 L5.
  • Lost 10 of last 19 away league games (W3 D6).

H2H- Blackburn won last league meeting 1-0 away in old Div 2 in April 1990.

Prediction: Bradford just do not lose at home and unfortunately for Blackburn fans, I can see them falling to another loss here. Life in League One can be tough. Bradford 1-0 Blackburn.

Below are highlights from the Bantams opening day victory.
