Manchester City are already hot favourites to win the Premier League and the season is only a couple of weeks old.
Football fans of clubs from all over the world can't help but admire the slick football played by Pep Guardiola's team. The new fly-on-the-wall Amazon Prime documentary - Manchester City - All Or Nothing - has won critical acclaim and many of the club's players are household names.
An injury to Kevin De Bruyne was headline news and the likes of David Silva and Sergio Aguero are amongst the best players in the world.
But some of us are old enough to remember when this wasn't always the case. For years, City stuttered from one season to the next with regular changes of manager and teams full of players you may wish you could forget. They toiled in the shadow of their more successful neighbours from across the city - with Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United hoovering up trophies and establishing themselves as one of world soccer's superpowers.
Times may be changing in Manchester though. United have made a less than impressive start to the season and boss Jose Mourinho cuts a frustrated figure as he reflects on a summer where he wasn't able to sign all his transfer targets.
But City have started the defence of their title with two impressive victories and are looking like one of the teams to beat. Maybe this year they will be able to go further in the Champions League too.
It wasn't always so simple to reel off the City XI. Our quiz will test your knowledge of which players were named the club's players of the season, going right back to the 1990s. Oh and the photo above means you should get at least one answer right.
