“Chelsea Are The New Arsenal” - Jamie Carragher Produces Stunning Double Slam After Manchester City Humiliation

Manchester City made sure they returned to the top of the Premier League table in style by absolutely putting the visiting Chelsea to the sword.

The incumbent Premier League champions overwhelmed the west London side at the Etihad, going 4-0 up even before half an hour

It was a stunned Sky Sports studio that had to provide the autopsy on Maurizio Sarri’s sorry side who had capitulated so easily in the first half in east Manchester, with Jamie Carragher humorously stepping up the task with eloquence, managing to not only insult Chelsea, but also their London neighbours Arsenal.

Asked to sum up the first 45 minutes, Carra spewed venom from his mouth;

City outstanding.

I had called a couple of Chelsea performances a disgrace going into this game, this is as bad as anything. Those two results are Arsenal and Bournemouth.

And I think looking at Sarri, it’s only obviously just over half-way into his first season but the worst thing I can say is it looks like he’s turned Chelsea into the new Arsenal, that Arsenal team who used to just get battered for the last seven eight years away from home in big games because they were just too weak.

You never used to say that about Chelsea.”

Arsenal have won the Premier League three times but haven’t really been in contention for the title since their last victory in 2004.They have failed to beat a top-six opponent away in the league in four years, both through Arsene Wenger and Unai Emery’s regimes.

Talk about Carragher killing two birds with one stone! Ouch.
