Chelsea Manager Maurizio Sarri’s Number One Superstition Revealed By Jorginho Ahead Of Crystal Palace Clash

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has taken to life in the Premier League with ease and his side will look to continue their unbeaten run as they host Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge. Now Chelsea fans will have something else to keep their eye on this afternoon as Maurizio Sarri’s incredible superstition has been revealed by one of his midfielders.

Former Napoli player Jorginho is a man who is used to working under Sarri and is incredibly familiar with his coaching techniques and his superstitions before and during matches. Before one game, when in charge of Serie D side Sansovino, he crashed into one of his player’s cars. His side won that game so the very next week Sarri did the very same thing ahead of the top of the table clash! Amazingly, they won that one as well, meaning Sarri is a very superstitious man.

Jorginho revealed one superstition Sarri still does not break: “He’s a simple guy. He has his… beliefs, his superstitions. Everyone does. For example, he won’t touch the match ball ever.

“Even if we’re losing, the ball goes out and we need to get the ball back in play as fast as possible, he won’t go near it.

“No way – he won’t touch it. Then there are other things too, but that’s normal, no?”

Chelsea can end today top of the Premier League table if results go their way and you can guarantee Sarri will not be touching the ball. With their current run of form, it is no wonder Sarri keeps up these superstitions!
