Chelsea Star Signs New 5-Year Deal Worth £290k A Week
08:31, 23 Nov 2018

Chelsea fans are over the moon on this Friday morning as one of their star players has committed his future to the club until 2023. Midfielder dynamo N’golo Kante has been vital to Chelsea’s success since moving from Leicester City in 2016 after helping the Foxes win the Premier League.

He then won the Premier League with Chelsea and was named PFA Player's Player of the Year after two years of incredible performances. So often the unsung hero, Kante finally got the individual accolade that he deserved and despite a below-par season last year that lead to Antonio Conte’s dismissal, Kante is back with a bang this season.

He has started every game for Chelsea this season as they have made an unbeaten start to the league season. Speaking to the official club website Kante said:

“I’m happy to extend my time with Chelsea, it has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come. Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about. I like the city, I like the club and I am happy to be here for more time.”

Meanwhile, Club Director Marina Granovskaia spoke of how important the 27-year-old Frenchman is to the club: “We are delighted N’Golo has signed a new contract and sees his long-term future with Chelsea. When he arrived, we knew we had signed a special player but he has astounded everybody with his tireless and unselfish displays.”

The deal is sure to please fans as Kante becomes Chelsea's highest earning player, earning a staggering £290k a week. That puts him way above Eden Hazard who has still not committed his future to the club.

Chelsea fans loved the news on social media saying with comments ranging from: “YEEEEESSSSSSS NGOLOOOOOO !!!” to “Yaaassss Great News. Up Next Hazard.”
