Chelsea Striker Alvaro Morata Linked With Move Back To Serie A With Juventus

Alvaro Morata has been linked with a move away from Chelsea after he was pictured chatting to Juventus director Fabio Paratici in Italy this week.

The Spanish striker enjoyed a strong start to his Premier League career after a £65million move from Real Madrid but his confidence appeared to take a hit in the second half of the season. He was also left out of the Spanish World Cup squad at the expense of Diego Costa, the man he replaced at Stamford Bridge.

A number of Serie A clubs including Juventus and AC Milan are reportedly keen on the player who was linked with Manchester United for much of last summer before the Red Devils opted to sign Romelu Lukaku. But the fee being mentioned is more like £15million.

After 10 games of the season, Real Madrid might’ve been forgiven for thinking they’d made a high-profile error in allowing Morata to leave. Then it all started to go awry. Injuries, a lack of confidence and belief and issues with the coaching staff have all contributed to an awful second half of 2017/18.

By contrast, the player who he replaced, Costa, has gone from strength to strength at Atletico Madrid, despite having the first five months of the season off because of the FIFA ban imposed on the Rojiblancos.

If Chelsea do cash in, it would enable them to make a play for their reported top target Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich. It promises to be a summer of transition at Stamford Bridge with the likes of Willian and Eden Hazard linked with moves away from the club.
