Cristiano Ronaldo Sees Off Messi & Neymar To Win Fifa Best Player Award

Cristiano Ronaldo is no stranger to winning trophies and he added yet another to his bulging collection when scooping the Fifa Best Player award at the Best Fifa Football Awards in London on Monday night.

The Portuguese striker won the award ahead of old rivals Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr.

Ronaldo may not have got off to the best start domestically for Real Madrid this season but he helped them to a Champions League-La Liga double last season with Ronaldo the catalyst.

Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo Might Be 'The Best' But He;s The Worst At Present.

It is only the second edition of this award, not to be confused with the Ballon D'Or, another award Ronaldo is pretty familiar with!

There were also awards on the night for Barcelona's Lieke Martens who won the best female player award whilst Ronaldo's club manager Zinedine Zidane scooped the best men's coach award.

Harry Kane may not have been nominated but he was present at the awards in Central London, fresh from his two goals that helped Spurs to a 4-1 win over Liverpool on Sunday.

The occasion gave the England man a chance to rub shoulders with some of Europe's elite.

Olivier Giroud may not be able to get a start for Arsenal in the Premier League, but his 'scorpion kick' against Crystal Palace last season was awarded the Puskas goal of 2017 award, although we'd argue last week's in Belgrade was pretty special also.

Celtic also walked away winners for this brilliant display honouring the club's 1967 Lisbon Lions, landing them the fan award.
