Famous West Ham fan Danny Dyer was allowed to interview West Ham’s saviour from last night’s game Andy Carroll. The famous Hammers’ fan praised the big striker saying that ‘we didn’t realise how much we missed you.’
The two then talked about how stressful was to watch the team at the minute and they also joked about the referee, Michael Oliver, who disallowed three West Ham goals.
He ended the interview saying: Do you think we’ll ever be as good as West Ham Ladies?’ The West Ham women’s side have won two trophies and are taking the game by storm and both Dyer and Carroll were incredibly positive about their sister side.
Carrol came on in the 96th minute of the game v Stoke and made an almost-instant impact. The English forward has been out for months with an ankle injury but has returned with a bang to help West Ham’s relegation battle.
Gareth Southgate was watching on as two big strikers, Peter Crouch and Andy Carroll both got themselves on the scoresheet. If he is considering a fourth striker option to make an impact off the bench, these two names may not be out of the question to make the World Cup squad.
Southgate also saw his most experienced goalkeeper; Joe Hart make a bad error which led to Crouch’s goal. He spilt Xherdan Shaqiri’s shot straight to the feet of the big man who poked home before he could make amends for his costly error. The England manager certainly has food for thought after this 1-1 draw.
